Siena

Our stop in Siena included a tour that took us to some small hill towns in Tuscany including San Gimignano (which we had been pronouncing as St Jimmy John for some time, a tough habit to break!). These were towns built with defense in mind; now they're cute because you can walk from one side of the old wall to the other in a matter of minutes. We ended that tour with a wine tasting deep in Chianti country. We tasted not only a variety of wine, but also some amazing olive oil (made with truffles) and balsamic vinegar. Yum!

Later that night and again the following morning, we checked out Siena's duomo. It is Gothic and striped both inside and out. Pictures to come!

We have been struggling with finding an Internet cafe that is open after we are done sightseeing for the day. We'll try again tomorrow before siesta time!
