Pisa to Siena

En route from the Cinque Terre to Florence a few days ago, we did get off the train in Pisa. The whole town was packed with tourists, but it was still very cool! We were impressed with the Duomo and Baptistery on the Field of Miracles (which is where the tower sits; we keep calling it the Field of Dreams.). The Baptistry, which also leans, holds what may be the first work of the Renaissance--a carved marble pulpit by Pisano. It's huge and intricate. We did, of course, also climb the tower. The photos are on our camera, so we will upload when we find an Internet cafe.

The next day after we saw Pisa, we forgtheses the Uffizi, Accademia, Bargello, Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, and Medici tombs in Florence, which we have already posted some photos of. (Yeah, that was all in a day! Our feet hurt!) Now we are in Siena preparing to head to Rome. Last night we had a private wine tasting at a Tuscan winery. Our host was quite a character! More details to come, but it was definitely a highlight! :)
